These Terms of Use define the terms and conditions governing the use of the Rahtitori service. By using our service, you agree to these terms.
Welcome to Rahtitori
Rahtitori is Finland's leading digital transportation marketplace, connecting shippers and transportation companies. Through our service, shippers can publish their transportation needs and transportation companies can offer competitive prices.
User types & Registration requirements
Sender
A company or individual with transportation needs. The sender can:
- Publish transport jobs
- Receive offers from transport companies
- Choose a suitable transport company
- Track the shipment through status updates
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid email address
- Company Business ID (for business users)
- Personal identification number (for individuals)
- Valid phone number
- Approved credit check
Transport Company
A registered transport company that wants to find new transport jobs, submit offers, and grow its customer base through Rahtitori.
The transport company can:
- View open transport jobs
- Submit offers for suitable jobs
- Communicate with the sender
- Agree on transport details
- Update the shipment status
- Build trust through its company profile and reviews
Requirements
- Company registered in the Trade Register
- Valid business ID
- Goods transport permit issued by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom
- Valid liability insurance or transport insurance
- Documents required under the Act on the Contractor’s Obligations and Liability
- Entry in the prepayment register, if applicable
- Approved background and company verification
All transport companies are checked before they can bid. Providing false information will result in immediate removal of access.
Use of the service
Publishing a gig
The sender is responsible for ensuring that the information provided for the published transport job is complete and accurate. The transport job must include: pickup and delivery addresses schedules cargo description weight dimensions special requirements Providing incorrect information may result in liability for compensation.
Making an offer
The transport company is bound by the price and terms stated in its offer. The offer becomes binding once it has been accepted by the sender. The offer must include all costs, including any additional services.
Formation of the contract
Formation of the contract A transport contract is formed when the sender accepts the transport company’s offer. The contract applies only between these two parties. Rahtitori acts solely as an intermediary and is not a party to the contract.

In the first version of Rahtitori, Rahtitori does not process transport payments between the sender and the transport company. The sender and the transport company agree on the payment, payment method, and payment terms directly between themselves. Rahtitori acts only as an intermediary and is not a party to the payment or the transport contract.
Prohibited activity
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
Providing false information when registering or posting a transport job
Contacting users directly in a way that bypasses the use of Rahtitori
Bypassing the platform or directing users away from the platform
Using another user’s account
Disturbing, offensive, or inappropriate behavior
Transporting illegal, dangerous, or prohibited cargo
Circumventing or interfering with the platform’s technical protections
Harassment of competitors or other unfair practices
Detection of prohibited activity will result in immediate termination of access and possible legal action.
Responsibilities
Responsibility of Rahtitori
Rahtitori acts only as a technical platform and intermediary.Rahtitori is not responsible for the fulfilment of agreements between users, damage to cargo, or delays in transport.Rahtitori’s liability is limited to the availability and technical functionality of the service, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Sender's responsibility
The sender is responsible for the accurate description, proper packaging, and required documentation of the cargo. The sender is obligated to declare any special requirements and any hazardous substances or dangerous materials.
Liability of the transport company
The transport company is responsible for transporting the cargo safely and according to the agreed schedule. The transport company must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and requirements related to transport operations.
End of contract
The user may close their account at any time by contacting customer service.
Rahtitori may terminate the user’s right to use the service immediately if the user violates these terms.
Upon account closure, all open transport jobs and offers will be cancelled.
The user must settle all outstanding payments and obligations before closing the account.
Dispute resolution
If a dispute arises between users, we primarily recommend resolving the matter through negotiations between the parties.
Rahtitori may, if necessary, act as a mediator in resolving the dispute, but Rahtitori is not a party to the transport contract between users.
If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiations, the matter may be referred to the Consumer Disputes Board or a competent general court for resolution.
These terms and the use of the service are governed by Finnish law.
